Concert at the summit of the Hohe Salve
Charity concert by the Brass Band of Söll
News | 11 July 2026
Around 800 guests from near and far gathered on the Hohe Salve on 10 July 2026 for the charity concert, Music Above the Clouds. At an altitude of 1,829 metres, the summit provided a spectacular setting for an unforgettable evening of music, in glorious summer weather. All proceeds from the event will support the Söll Family Fund, ‘Schritt für Schritt’ and the Sölllandl Social Welfare Organisation. The donations will be handed over in August.
Organised by mountain railway "Bergbahnen Söll", the concert brought together outstanding brass band music and the unique Alpine scenery of the Hohe Salve. As the sun set behind the surrounding mountains, the panoramic views created a memorable backdrop for the evening.
The Söll Brass Band, conducted by Bandmaster Michael Mayr, performed a varied programme that appealed to a wide range of musical tastes. Presenter Helmut Oberer guided the audience through the evening with warmth, humour, and style.

A Mystical Performance and a Spectacular Finale

One of the evening's standout moments came halfway through the concert. The Hexenwasser Witches performed a mystical interpretation of the piece Hagazussa, using sound, smoke and shimmering soap bubbles. The performance blended seamlessly with the mountain landscape, and captivated the audience.
The finale offered another unforgettable moment. As the final notes echoed across the summit, the sun slowly disappeared behind the mountains, bathing the landscape in vibrant evening colours. At the same time, the new “Sternstunden” gondola lift to the Hohe Salve was showcased in a unique atmosphere. The new Sky Labyrinth, together with the illuminated Salve Sun, created another striking highlight as daylight faded.
Guests also enjoyed a selection of food and refreshments provided by the hut "Gipfelalm Hohe Salve
", rounding off a special evening on the summit.
