The SalvenSonne has risen

Sky Labyrinth, planetary ball tracks and an earlier opening of the new gondola lift

A special moment between heaven and earth: today, 25 June, our 1.6-tonne golden SalvenSonne was successfully flown into the new Sky Labyrinth on the Hohe Salve by a heavy-lift helicopter. The Sun hovered precisely into its new position – a striking moment full of wonder, technology and emotion.

Fittingly for St James’s Day, a traditional summer day in the old solar and farmers’ calendar, the SalvenSonne thus symbolically ‘rose’ above the Hohe Salve.

Planetary marble runs and celestial mazes – a path to finding your own centre

Eight planetary marble runs have been set up around the new Sky Labyrinth, inviting visitors to discover our solar system through play. The runs illustrate the planets and their different orbital speeds, bringing cosmic connections to life for young and old alike. As a special surprise, every visitor will receive a free marble this Year of the Sun. The marbles lead the way into the labyrinth – on a journey towards one’s own centre.

For the new Celestial Labyrinth is not a maze with dead ends, but a place between heaven and earth. Eight orbits – modelled on the paths of our planets – spiral ever closer towards the centre: the Salven Sun. The labyrinth was built from logs and carefully integrated into the landscape. Arranged in the Earth’s orbit, 365 logs symbolise the days of the year. The twelve Rauhnächte and the zodiac signs are specially marked.

At the centre, the four-metre-high golden SalvenSonne rises – the heart of the labyrinth. It symbolises warmth, guidance and the power of the sun as the most important companion in our lives.

“There is no right or wrong,” say the project’s creators. “Many paths lead to the centre.” Thus, on the Hohe Salve, a special place has been created for wonder, encounter and reflection.

Early launch for the new ‘Sternstunden’ gondola lift on 27 June.

We are also delighted to announce that the new, accessible ‘Sternstunden’ cable car at Hohe Salve will be able to start operating earlier than planned: as early as Saturday 27 June, the first guests will be gliding towards the summit of the Hohe Salve.

The sky also plays the leading role in the new gondola lift. Each cabin features its own constellation. Using QR codes, guests can listen to fascinating stories about the signs of the zodiac and discover interesting facts about constellations and the night sky. This means the journey between heaven and earth begins even as the lift ascends.

“Music Above the Clouds” – Charity concert on 10 July

The opening on the Hohe Salve will, of course, be celebrated in style. And all Tyroleans are welcome to join in. On 10 July, the Söll Mountain Railways and the Söll Federal Brass Band invite you to a charity concert, ‘Music Above the Clouds’, on the Hohe Salve. Together, we’ll be celebrating the new stations, the mountain’s special atmosphere and a summer full of magical moments. The proceeds will be donated to Schritt für Schritt, the Söll Family Fund and Sozailsprngl Söllandl.

Tickets for the concert are still available. Here: Buchen.hexenwasser.at

The Hohe Salve is thus becoming, more than ever, a place of power between heaven and earth – for families, stargazers, seekers of meaning and all those who have not yet forgotten how to marvel.
