Route description

From the village centre in Westendorf, head towards the Alpenrosenbahn cable car. You pass the gondola lift, where you can also buy lift tickets, and walk straight ahead along Oberwindauer Straße. After a short ascent, you will reach the valley station of the Choralmbahn cable car.

The cable car takes you comfortably up to the Choralpe mountain station. A magnificent mountain panorama and a mountain inn where you can take a break await you at the top. From here, you continue along the ski trail to the "Talkaser", the mountain station of the Alpenrosenbahn cable car. There is also a beautifully situated mountain inn here.

For the way back, you can take the same route or use the Alpenrosenbahn cable car for a comfortable ride down into the valley to Westendorf.

Gondolas

There are 2 ticket options available so that you as a winter hiker can use mountain lifts in winter. Either you buy individual tickets for each lift OR you use the multi-day winter hiking pass, which is valid for all pedestrian lifts in winter in the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental.

Lift ticket

There is no ticket counter at the Choralmbahn. Please buy your mountain railway ticket at the Alpenrosenbahn valley station.
