La iglesia de peregrinación más alta de Austria

En lo alto de la cima del Hohe Salve, a 1.829 metros de altitud, se encuentra la Salvenkirchlein, uno de los lugares de peregrinación más impresionantes del Tirol y también la iglesia de peregrinación más alta de Austria. Está dedicada a San Juan Bautista y lleva siglos atrayendo a peregrinos y visitantes.

Destaca el altar mayor de estilo barroco temprano, de 1666, con un cuadro del bautismo de Jesús y las estatuas de San Juan Bautista y San Bartolomé. La Salvenkirchlein no es sólo un lugar de espiritualidad, sino también un popular destino de excursiones. Se puede llegar a él por rutas de senderismo y en tren de montaña desde Hopfgarten y Söll. Por supuesto, en verano también se puede llegar a la iglesia de peregrinación a pie en una maravillosa excursión.

Una visita a la Salvenkirchlein no sólo ofrece una visión de la rica historia del Tirol, sino también una impresionante vista panorámica de los Alpes circundantes.

Historia

La capilla se menciona por primera vez en un documento de 1589. Según la tradición, el agricultor Andreas Schwender de Brixen im Thale mandó construir la pequeña iglesia como agradecimiento por su recuperación. Ya en 1617 se celebró aquí la primera santa misa. Debido al creciente número de peregrinos, la capilla se amplió en 1625. Tras el devastador impacto de un rayo en 1640, se reconstruyó hasta 1643. El edificio actual data de 1641 y en 1972 se le añadió un pórtico de madera.

Today you will follow the trail of the KAT Walk, the hiking runway of the Kitzbühel Alps. With the Salvenbahn, you ascend to the middle station of the Hohe Salve. Together with our hiking guide Lous, you will hike over lush alpine meadows on the sunny side of arguably the most beautiful panoramic mountain in Tyrol, our Hohe Salve! This half-day hike requires endurance and fitness, as approximately 650 meters in altitude will be covered. Changes due to fitness level and weather are possible. Meeting place: tourist information office Hopfgarten, Brixentalerstraße 41, 6361 Hopfgarten Registration: until 4 p.m. the day before online, at the tourist information offices of the Region Hohe Salve or by phone +43 680 3207548 Equipment: sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sufficient fluids and sun protection, snack Costs with Kitzbüheler Alpen guest card: free of charge (excl. lift ticket up and down) Costs without Kitzbüheler Alpen guest card: € 22,00 per person (excl. lift ticket up and down) Duration: approx. 4 hours Participants: min. 2 to max. 12 Difficulty: middle Reduction: Children under 7 years are free of charge!
