Westendorf is located on a sunny plateau between Choralpe and Brechhorn and offers direct access to the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental as well as direct connections to the Kitzbühel ski area. The Alpenrosenbahn cable car takes you to the hiking and skiing area or to excursion destinations such as the Kreuzjöchlsee lake all year round. The village centre with cafés, restaurants and small shops invites you to linger. From spring to autumn, there are marked hiking and mountain bike routes, peaks up to 2,400 m and the Alpinolino AdventureWorld with "animal puzzle tour" for young and old. Events such as the Almabtriebsfest or the weekly craft market bring guests and locals together. All this makes Westendorf a year-round holiday destination for families, active sports enthusiasts, nature lovers and fans of authentic Tyrolean mountain culture.
Experience Westendorf in summer
From May to November, the Alpenrosenbahn cable car takes you to the Alpinolino adventure world on the Talkaser with stations such as the "animal puzzle tour", "Spoggolino ball track" and "woodworm trail". At the Alpinorama viewpoint at 1,770 metres, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Brixental Valley and the Hohe Tauern.
The 16 km long Windau Valley is the starting point for hikes such as the tour to the Rotwandalm or cycle tours along the Windauer Ache to the Jagerhäusl inn. Mountain bikers will find routes such as the Choralpen tour or the Kinzlingalm tour. For golfers, the 18-hole Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf golf course is right next to the village.

Mountain railways in summer

The 6-seater Alpenrosenbahn I & II gondola lift takes you directly up to 1,770 metres to the Talkaser and the Alpinolino adventure world with exciting stations for young and old. From there, panoramic trails open up to the Choralpe, the Brechhorn or the Windautal. At the Alpinorama viewpoint, you can enjoy a panoramic view over the Brixental Valley all the way to the Hohe Tauern.

Winter in Westendorf
From December to April, Westendorf offers direct access to the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental and the KitzSki region. The "Boarders Playground" at the Gampenkogel lift is one of the largest fun parks in the region and offers various lines for snowboarders and freestylers. For beginners, there are two wide practice slopes in the valley as well as several ski schools.
Away from the pistes, there are 13 km of groomed cross-country ski trails, winter hiking trails such as the circuit to Salvensee and a natural toboggan run in Windautal.

Arrival & mobility
You can reach Westendorf by car via the Inntal motorway (A12). Leave the motorway at the Wörgl-Ost exit or - toll-free - at the Kufstein-Süd exit. Take the train directly to Westendorf station. Alternatively, you can also use the train stations in Wörgl, Hopfgarten or Brixen im Thale - from there you can continue by bus or taxi. The nearest airport is Innsbruck, and Munich and Salzburg are also good options. Further information on routes, timetables and connections can be found directly at the respective means of transport.
