Scheffau at the Wilder Kaiser

Scheffau is located on the south-western foothills and largely in the nature reserve of the Kaiser Mountains. The Brandstadlbahn cable car takes you directly to the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental or to the KaiserWelt with adventure playgrounds on the mountain. From summit hikes to swimming and relaxing at Hintersteiner See lake, one of the most beautiful and cleanest mountain and bathing lakes in Tyrol, the small village also offers culinary experiences at numerous privately run huts and mountain restaurants.

In the summer season from May to November, Scheffau shows its quiet, natural side. Numerous hiking trails lead through the nature reserve of the Kaiser Mountains, past alpine pastures and viewing points. The Hintersteiner See lake with its crystal-clear water invites you to swim, walk and relax. In the Kneipp facility in the village centre you will find refreshment for body and soul.

In winter, from December to April, Scheffau offers everything for quiet, enjoyable days of skiing away from the hustle and bustle. Direct access to the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental provides easy access to over 270 kilometres of pistes. In the village itself, there is a free practice lift and a groomed night trail for cross-country skiers.

You can get to Scheffau by car via the Inntal motorway (A12). Take the Kufstein-Süd (toll-free) or Wörgl-Ost exit. If you are travelling by train, the nearest train stations are Kufstein, Wörgl, Hopfgarten or St. Johann. From there, buses or taxis will take you directly to Scheffau. The nearest airport is Salzburg, alternatively Innsbruck or Munich are also suitable.
