Directions

The trail starts with a comfortable ride on the Alpenrose Cable Car in Westendorf to the top station – the perfect starting point for a family-friendly hike in the heart of the Alps.

Right next to the benches at the top station, a path leads to the left leads to the marmot cave, where your adventure begins. The Himmelsteig trail offers impressive views and exciting nature observations and leads you up to the picturesque Choralpe in no time.

If you are looking for an additional summit experience, you can make a worthwhile detour to the Guggenkögele, Westendorf's home mountain. The summit offers a fantastic panorama of the Kitzbühel Alps – a highlight for all hiking enthusiasts.

The way back is a gentle walk along the forest road below the chapel back to the top station of the Alpenrose cable car.
