Today you will trace the KAT Walk, the long-distance hiking trail of the Kitzbühel Alps. The Salvenbahn takes you up to the middle station of the Hohe Salve. Together with a hiking guide, you will hike over lush alpine meadows on the sunny side of arguably the most beautiful viewpoint mountain in Tyrol, our Hohe Salve! This half-day hike requires endurance and fitness, as around 650 meters of elevation gain will be covered. Meeting point: Information office Hopfgarten, Brixentalerstraße 41, 6361 Hopfgarten Registration: by the day before at 04:00 pm online or in the information offices of the Hohe Salve region Equipment: sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sufficient fluids and sun protection, snacks Costs with Kitzbühel Alps guest card: free (excluding lift ticket for ascent and descent) Costs without Kitzbühel Alps guest card: € 22.00 per person (excluding lift ticket for ascent and descent) Duration: approx. 4 hours Participants: min. 2 to max. 12 Difficulty level: medium Note: Changes due to fitness and weather are reserved. The highlight is Saturday: tradition is a top priority on the Hohe Salve – with a fashion show featuring traditional clothing by Niederkofler, performances by the rural youth and the children’s Schuhplattler dancers from Hopfgarten, as well as a Goasslschnoizer gathering. The solstice has a long tradition in the Hohe Salve region and is a true spectacle. The mountain peaks are set ablaze as the longest day meets the shortest night. On June 20, fires are lit on the mountain tops. These fires are meant to strengthen the power of the sun and ward off evil from humans and animals. Experience unique traditions at the summit of Hohe Salve. The fires in the evening mountain atmosphere will delight you! From the mountain peaks, the view is overwhelming and reveals another facet of the impressive mountain world of the Kitzbühel Alps in Tyrol. TIP: The summit restaurant on Hohe Salve is open all day! A reservation is beneficial - warm meals available again from 6:30 p.m.. St. Anna's day at the Hohe Salve

On July 26, 2026, the Hohe Salve invites you to the traditional St. Anna Summit Mass – a special event deeply rooted in Tyrolean faith and festival culture. The mass takes place at the summit of the Hohe Salve, where, amidst an impressive 360° panorama, people celebrate and pause together. The mountain mass is musically accompanied by the Brixen brass group. Afterward, the summit hut Hohe Salve invites you to a cozy brunch. Tyrolean specialties and convivial gatherings are the focus here. The feast day of St. Anna is regarded in Christian traditions as a day of remembrance for St. Anna, the mother of Mary and grandmother of Jesus. As the patroness of mothers and families, she is highly revered in many regions of Tyrol. Pilgrimages and masses in her honor have a long tradition, especially in the Alpine countries. Such celebrations not only provide space for religious devotion but also strengthen the sense of community – a moment of pause in often hectic everyday life. The summit mass on the Hohe Salve is a unique experience for all who wish to consciously enjoy the moment in nature and celebrate together.
