Snowmaking
Technical snowmaking in Austria is carried out under particularly environmentally friendly conditions. In addition to the purity commandment "air and water and nothing else!", this also applies to energy production, more than 90 percent of which is obtained from renewable sources.

The water for the snowmaking comes from the snow ponds, which are filled naturally by the melting snow and the rain. The energy for this is supplied by the Tyrolean hydroelectric power plants.

Energy
Whether 100 per cent green electricity, local power plants for sustainable energy generation, massive expansion of photovoltaics or climate-friendly building technology: the resource-saving operation of cable cars is already standard in Austria.

Technology
The high technical standard of cableways in Austria contributes significantly to environmental protection. The use of the latest technologies saves energy and costs and provides valuable innovations time and again. For example, cable cars are created that generate their own energy during the descent with the corresponding number of passengers and feed it into the overall system.

Slope management
Thanks to ecological piste management and renaturation measures, cableway companies take care of their natural environment. This leads, among other things, to an increase in plant diversity on treated piste areas, making them more valuable from an ecological point of view.

Ecological footprint
A study by the Federal Environment Agency confirms it in black and white: mountain holidays in Austria - whether in summer or winter - are among the most climate-friendly types of travel. Even summer holidays on the Italian Adriatic cannot compete with this.

Regionality
In many places, cable car companies are among the most important promoters of regional agriculture. The operation and processing of local products makes a significant contribution to strengthening local economic structures and at the same time minimising transport expenses

Mobility
Ropeway companies invest massively in curbing motorised individual transport. Cooperations with the railway, free shuttle services and the expansion of the infrastructure for e-mobility reduce the number of car journeys and thus protect our climate.
