Going at the Wilder Kaiser

Going am Wilden Kaiser lies at the foot of the mighty Wilder Kaiser to the east, close to St. Johann and Kitzbühel, and offers direct access to the ski area in winter. The 4-seater Astbergbahn chairlift takes visitors up the Astberg in spring, summer, autumn and winter to easy hiking trails or directly to the Pony Alm. The village centre attracts mountain doctor fans in particular, as there are well-known film locations here. Many hiking routes lead to both the Wilder Kaiser and the Astberg. Going combines nature, tradition and adventure and is ideal for families, groups, outdoor sports enthusiasts, Bergdoktor fans and connoisseurs of all ages.

The idyllic holiday destination on the Wilder Kaiser combines living tradition with genuine Tyrolean hospitality from May to November. The Goinger bathing lake, the "Moor & more" moorland area, the Pony Alm on the Astberg and the Astbergsee lake with the mirror image of the Wilder Kaiser offer special nature and family experiences. The Mountain Experience-Card is ideal - it is not only valid as an admission ticket for the Astberg Pony Alm, but also opens up access to other adventure worlds in the region. In winter, Going is the easternmost part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser, away from the hustle and bustle and is considered to be particularly snow-rich. The sheltered valley runs on the north side, sunny pistes on the plateau, winter hiking trails in the valley and on the mountain as well as free car parks make the village ideal for quiet and enjoyable winter days. The toboggan run from the Astberg leads from the mountain station comfortably down to Going or on to Ellmau.

You can reach Going by car via the Inntal motorway (A12), exit Kufstein-Süd (toll-free) or Wörgl-Ost. Take the train to St. Johann, Kitzbühel, Kufstein or Wörgl, from where you can continue by bus or taxi. The nearest airport is Innsbruck, alternatively Munich or Salzburg.
