The walk-in cherry
In a VISIBLE CHERRY, I am shown the miracle of how such a delicate cherry branch can grow from a rock-hard stone and told how the Salven cherry came from Russia to Söll after the First World War.
The barefoot path leads directly through the enchanting cherry orchard and invites you to linger. Here you can enjoy delicious cherry delicacies such as sweet cherry pancakes, a slice of cherry strudel or a fruity cherry ice cream.
Recipe for the Tiroler Kirschkoch
Zutaten
- 500 ml milk
- 60 - 80 g fine semolina
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 pinch of salt
- 200 g cherries
- Cinnamon and sugar for sprinkling
- Butter (liquid, brown for drizzling)
PREPARATION
To make the semolina cook, slowly bring the milk and butter to the boil in a pan. Season with a pinch of salt. Now slowly pour in the semolina. Cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly, until creamy. (The longer the porridge cooks, the firmer it becomes) Finally, add 200 g of cherries. Meanwhile, mix the sugar with plenty of cinnamon to taste. Sprinkle the finished porridge with cinnamon sugar to taste (previously without sugar and cinnamon), drizzle with brown butter and serve in the pan, eating everything together with a spoon.
