Sunshine skiing in the SkiWelt
Sunny skiing days, great atmosphere and top events in March & April
When the days get longer and the sun shines over the Tyrolean Alps, perhaps the most beautiful time of the ski season begins in the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental: sunshine skiing. With longer days, freshly groomed pistes in the morning and offers such as early-bird skiing from 7.30 am, you can start your day of skiing early and enjoy it well into the afternoon. Sunshine skiing also includes events and live music at the ski huts in the ski area. At the same time, the quieter time outside the main holidays often means less activity on many slopes.
Skiing in spring
Sunshine skiing meets pleasure

Enjoy the sun at the end of the season
Sunshine skiing also includes breaks on the sun terraces of the huts. Many ski huts and mountain restaurants offer terraces, deckchairs and outdoor seating areas directly on the slopes, which are particularly popular on sunny days in spring. There you can take a short break from your day's skiing with food or drinks before setting off again on the next descent.

Retro Week in Itter & Hopfgarten
Retro Week takes place every year in March in the SkiWelt sub-region of Hopfgarten-Itter. During this week, the ski area is all about the 70s, 80s and 90s. Many guests ski in colourful retro ski suits and there is live music and DJs at several huts in the ski area. In addition to the music on the terraces and in the huts, there are also activities in the ski area. The highlight is the retro ski day with a fun ski race and music programme.

Wine tastings at the huts
In March, winemakers will be presenting their wines in person at the Gipfelalm Hohe Salve, the “Weinfest” at Tanzbodenalm, the “Falstaff Alpengipfel” in the Kaiserlounge and the “Big Bottle Party” at AuAlm. These events are held at altitudes ranging from 1,400 to 1,800 metres. Each mountain hut has its own unique charm: Gipfelalm is located right at the summit of Hohe Salve; Tanzbodenalm has a rustic, old-wood interior; and AuAlm has a sunny patio. All locations are easily accessible by skilift or car.

Why skiing is worthwhile in March and April
Skiing in March and April has several advantages. With spring, the days get longer and the sun shines more often, which ensures good visibility and more pleasant conditions on the piste. At the same time, many ski resorts are often quieter outside the main holiday periods, which can make for a more relaxed day of skiing. The combination of longer skiing days, more hours of sunshine and less frequented pistes makes it possible to ski several descents in peace and to plan a break in the ski area in between.
- More sun on the piste
- Best slopes in the morning and longer skiing days
- Pleasant temperatures
- Less busy and a relaxed atmosphere in the ski area
- Enjoyment on the sun terraces of the ski huts
