New Jochbahn in Brixen

The 20-year-old Jochlift is being replaced by a state-of-the-art 8-seater chairlift - the fastest in the world! Detachable, comfortable and fast: with a speed of 6 meters per second (previously 2.4), the new Jochbahn will be able to transport 3,000 people per hour and will not only offer more speed and comfort, but also twice as much fun on the slopes as before. Opening on time for the 2015/16 winter season.

The new valley station is being built at the level of Gasthof Nieding, making the lift more than twice as long as before. A 180 m² photovoltaic system with approx. 20,000 kilowatt hours per year will be installed on the south-facing façade. The new lift will therefore also make an important contribution to sustainable energy generation.

Bergbahn Brixen is investing a total of around EUR 12 million in this project.
