New Fleiding cable car in Westendorf

After over 12 million rides and 25,000 loyal operating hours, an era came to an end on 31 March 2019: the Fleidingbahn, in operation since 1983, went into well-deserved retirement. However, the end also marks a new beginning: SkiWelt Westendorf is embarking on a pioneering major project - the construction of the ultra-modern 8CLD/B Fleidingbahn lift with its impressive panoramic scenery.

With an investment of 15.5 million euros, one of the most innovative 8-seater chairlifts in the world is being built - equipped with comfort seats, seat heating and weather protection bonnets. The new lift not only offers significantly more comfort, but also an enormous increase in transport capacity: up to 2,730 people per hour can reach the mountain quickly and comfortably. Thanks to the new route, the descent is also longer - for even more skiing fun on the slopes of the SkiWelt.

Once guests reach the highest point of the ski area, an unforgettable 360° view awaits them: From the Wilder Kaiser to the Großglockner and the Zillertal Alps. A spacious viewing platform invites you to linger, marvel and pause for a moment.

This new world of experience will be integrated into the holistic Alpinorama concept - under the motto "Come down and recharge your batteries on the mountain". In summer 2019 and 2020, additional themed trails will be created with lovingly staged adventure stations. Here, visitors can consciously take a deep breath, slow down and feel the power of the mountains in inspiring moments.
