This tour starts at the cable car parking lot in Hopfgarten, continues into the historic town center and from there, after the bridge at the municipal office, turn right along Talhäuslweg, past the retirement home, on to Aussersalvenberg and uphill on the asphalt road towards Alpengasthof Rigi.
The asphalt road, which turns into a forest road after 6 km for the remaining 3 km, is perfect for strong calves. Due to the steep incline, you should allow 1.5 hours for the 9 km total length. Connecting route no. 269 - a good level of fitness is required here! Wonderful tour with fantastic views at the Rigi! From there, descend to the middle station of the Hohe Salve gondola lift and take the gondola down into the valley.
