SkiWelt Brixent im Thale
The ALPENIGLU® igloo village in Hochbrixen (open from 5 January) offers a truly unique experience. The white village of 18 igloos in Hochbrixen offers a unique world of experience with numerous facets. And at the heart of it all is the stuff all winter dreams are made of: ice! A fondue on a crystal-clear ice table, an overnight stay in an igloo suite, cool drinks in ice glasses and as a highlight, the ICE LAND ice art exhibition: ice sculptures by international artists are impressively presented using high-tech lighting – and this winter, the theme will be ‘Eskimos and their world’. The ALPENIGLU® igloo village is the SkiWelt’s hottest winter act with its igloo hotel, ice church, restaurant, bar and sun lounge!
The ALPENIGLU® igloo village in Hochbrixen is also a special experience for non-skiers and is just a leisurely one minute’s walk away from Hochbrixen mountain station. The SkiWelthütte mountain restaurant is situated at the gondola mountain station – the ideal destination for those who prefer a winter holiday without winter sports.
Who is fastest on the piste? The timed speed trail on the Filzbodenbahn has the answer! Fun for all ages!
Brixen also offers a small yet refined experience in the form of nigh-skiing at the Schusterbühel lift – ideal for beginners who want to experience skiing by night on the piste.
The SkiWelt has a total of 196 km of perfectly prepared trails on offer for Nordic sports fans, with a range of options. The Hochbrixen cross-country run is a real highlight: situated in a beautiful landscape, this trail offers peaceful cross-country fun and safe snow conditions up until the end of the season.
The Intersport Kaiserpark offers fun park adventures for riders in all categories, from beginners to professionals. The location right opposite the Tanzbodenbahn chairlift is based in a sunny spot, right in the centre of the SkiWelt. Here you can find an easy-line with 3 boxes (flat - up & down - flat), an expert-line with 5 boxes or rails (flat-rail – wallride spine-rainbow box – flat-box – kinked-box & picnic table), a double kicker combo & double roller combo and a chill-out-area with recliners and relaxing sounds for a proper wind down.
Speed permitted! This is the message on the Almbahn timed speed trail: here visitors can race to see who is the best and bravest at skiing – or who has the best relationship with the wax experts at the ski service centre…
One of the most beautiful toboggan runs in the SkiWelt is the 4.5 km long Astberg toboggan run. The route leads either to Ellmau (Naschberg – Hotel der Bär) or directly to Going (nursery slope) and is floodlit daily until midnight. Sledges can also be hired from Goingsport at the Astbergbahn valley station.
A hit for amateur racers and all those wanting to know more: the BMW Ski Movie Track on the south-facing slope, where a “real” giant slalom course is set up each day. Get all professional in an original World Cup start house – timekeeping and video recording included. You can conveniently download your personal ski movie via your Skiline account or view it there and then at the Skiline terminal at the Brandstadl top lift station.
The Moderer Route in Scheffau offers freeriders a brilliant, non-groomed ski trail, which is only open, however, when there is sufficient snow.
Scheffau offers a somewhat different experience for techies: exciting insights into the world of snowmaking and grooming – dates and times on request.
With its Funny Bird Slope and Crazy Kangaroo Park, Söll offers exciting experiences for adrenaline junkies both young and old.
The Funny Bird Slope beneath the Salvenmoos 2-seater chairlift provides fun both night and day: two lines with plenty of variety and exciting obstacles, including jumps, boxes, curves and corners, tunnels, crossings and many others. And so as not to have to miss out on any jibbing after dark, a new rail line was built right next to the floodlights – small but sweet.
The Crazy Kangaroo Park at the Rinner lift with chill-out area is constantly being expanded, re-shaped and kept up-to-date. The playful set-up can be found on the upper part of the Rinner descent and includes a number of special features. The Easy Line with its two 3 kicker lines, 2-4 meter tables and Snow Fun Box is ideal for all freestyle newbies. A brand new flat tube and a flat down rail will also be crafted from snow this year by the park’s shapers.
Söll is the number 1 destination in Austria when it comes to night skiing. With 11 kilometres of illuminated ski runs (Wednesday to Saturday each week), SkiWelt Söll is Austria’s largest night skiing resort! A very special experience for any winter sports fans wanting to turn night into day on the slopes.
Get together for a wonderfully unique evening of tobogganing – an experience for the whole family or a sociable evening with friends. Toboggans are available to rent at the bottom and middle lift stations.
Westendorf goes off! Thanks to its Boarders Playground, Westendorf offers THE funpark for the entire region. From beginner to pro, a fresh challenge awaits all riders here with the park being constantly newly designed, built and shaped – there is no such thing as routine at the Boarders Playground.
At the exercise meadow in the valley, the "Mini Playground" is ready. A funpark for beginners and younger riders, it comprises an easy line with mini jump line and mini rail line, ensuring endless fun with slightly smaller obstacles than those found at the Boarders Playground.
Westendorf is definitely one of the best freeriding spots in the Tyrolean Lowlands. Shady slopes, cliffs, long runs into the valley…basically, everything you would expect from a first-rate freeride destination.
In Westendorf, you can turn night into day at the many bars located in the village centre and/or try some night skiing on the Schneeberg (run no. 126).
“Show off your best carving turns!” Because there is a brand new Ski Movie track on the Laubkogel. Every run is recorded and can be viewed, downloaded and, of course, sent using your personal Skiline code...
