11er-Kaiserblick round

Ellmau

Route description

I start my hike at the hiking information point in the centre of Ellmau villageand walk past the Marienkapelle chapel up to Ellmau's local mountain. Hiking trail no. 8 leads me steadily uphill and repeatedly opens up beautiful views of the village and the surrounding mountains.

At the jezz AlmResort , I can take one last culinary break if I wish, as the next few hours take me through unspoilt and peaceful countryside. From here, I branch off onto hiking trail no. 11. The trail takes me through a variety of meadows and forests, uphill and downhill, past small streams and the idyllic Höhenanger, Boten and Schwendteralmen pastures. In this unspoilt landscape, I particularly enjoy the tranquillity of nature until I finally reach the Eibergalm.

I continue along the panoramic trail, which takes me past the picturesque Tanzbodenteich pond. I soon reach the Hartkaiserbahn mountain railway station. The Bergkaiser restaurant offers the perfect opportunity for a break on the sun terrace - with a magnificent view of the Wilder Kaiser mountains.

Refreshed, I continue on hiking trail no. 2 to the Ranhartalm. If you love cheese, you should definitely stop here: Fresh mountain cheese can be tasted here and taken home with you.

The last section takes me along hiking trail no. 7 through a beautiful, shady spruce forest down to the Hartkaiserbahn valley station and finally back to the village of Ellmau.
