279 genuine kilometres of ski runs
8 million euro for even more reliable snow coverage and improved comfort on the slopes
SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental is still number 1
So now we have it in black and white: SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental really is Austria’s largest interconnected ski resort. Precisely 279 kilometres of slope has been calculated in the SkiWelt by an external surveying company. Leaving no doubt that no other ski region can offer more uninterrupted skiing pleasure.
Following discussions about false or misleading information concerning the amount of ski runs offered by several ski resorts in the Alps, this was important news for the SkiWelt confirming that their offer was in fact accurate to the kilometre.
But it is not only the size of the ski resort that deserves praise – under the scrutiny of many independent judges the SkiWelt comes out at the top of the list year after year. For example, it was awarded best price-performance ratio by the ADAC Ski Guide 2013 for all ski resorts in Austria – and this was for the third time in a row. Of course, this is no reason to rest on our laurels: this winter there will also be considerable improvements in the areas of infrastructure, service, snow reliability and quality! With an investment of no less than 8 million euro, the “best ski resort in the world” (the SkiWelt has also been awarded this title four times already) will be even better again this year.
The biggest project this season: completion of the new Hohe Salve reservoir in SkiWelt Hopfgarten. This will make snow cover on the slopes around the SkiWelt’s “house mountain” even more reliable. Four new snowcats of the latest generation provide even better quality slopes in the SkiWelt. New, energy-efficient snow canons (in total there are now over 1,500 snow machines across the resort) guarantee even better snow coverage in winter. Especially important when it comes to ensuring superb conditions on the SkiWelt’s 21 (!) valley runs right up until the end of the season. A mind-boggling number of new WiFi hotspots with free Internet access across the entire SkiWelt area is also available to guests this winter.
A very special attraction at the SkiWelt is set to draw many visitors to Hochbrixen again this winter: the Alpeniglu® Village – a magical, white, fairy-tale world of ice and snow with an ice restaurant, overnight accommodation available in the igloo suite, a permanent ice exhibition (the motto this winter: ice castle) plus cool drinks and hot sounds at the ice bar.
On the subject of attractions, Söll’s witch’s winter has plenty to offer too. A programme bursting with fun and adventure for young and old, with the Witch’s Kinderland for the little ones, Christmassy customs and bread baking at the Simonalm hut. What is more, it offers a daily warm-up programme with ski exercises or weekly snow groomer and snow canon tours for technology freaks...
