Ecological criteria and measures also play an increasingly important role in ski resorts.

It was a variety of measures that convinced the jury: The special ecological consideration in all construction measures, which are also accompanied by nature conservation experts, as well as the increased use of solar energy in the SkiWelt.
All of SkiWelt's facilities are operated with 100% renewable energy (hydroelectric power) from the Tyrolean state energy supplier TIWAG.
The 15 snow ponds at SkiWelt are mainly filled naturally by feeding in snow melt and precipitation. The still varied vegetation of the ski slopes in summer, which have always been used by farmers as alpine pastures for their cows, has also earned great praise.

A further achievement is the new GPS-controlled snow measuring system, which enables more efficient and resource-saving snow management - the slopes can be prepared to the centimetre, which also results in enormous savings in technically produced snow and energy.
